Rosendahl’s Office to Begin Process to Restrict Parking of Oversize Vehicles
Councilman Bill Rosendahl is offering petitions to Venice residents
who want street signs banning overnight parking of oversize vehicles.
Signs will be posted on blocks where two-thirds of residents, property owners and businesses submit petitions requesting restrictions on the parking of vehicles more than seven feet high or more than 22 feet long between the hours of 2:00 A.M.-6:00 A.M.
Before signs can be installed, the City Council still must approve a secondary “implementing ordinance” to flesh out guidelines and details. Councilman Rosendahl will submit a motion next week, at the council’s next meeting, asking the City Attorney and DOT to expedite that process.
But residents can circulate and submit the petitions in the meantime. Rosendahl said he will direct the Department of Transportation to install the signs on any block where 2/3 of the residents, businesses and property owners support the restrictions. Residents who own RVs will be allowed to get a non-transferable, $10 per day, three-day permit to load or unload their vehicle.
Petitions are available in any of Rosendahl’s council offices, or can be downloaded from his website, www.councilmanrosendahl.com. The form is located on the homepage under ‘Hot Topics.’ (or click HERE to go directly to the petition). Completed petitions should be submitted to Rosendahl’s office for verification of the signatures and to start the analysis of the designated block required to post the signs.

DeDe Audette Named Los Angeles Angel
Congratulations to past president of the Venice Neighborhood Council, DeDe Audet — chosen as a “True Angel” by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Those of us who know DeDe understand that “angel” is a relative term and that DeDe is a true Venetian, an angel with a bite – that’s why we love her. Congratulations DeDe!
A graduate of Venice High School, DeDe has been active with the Venice Neighborhood Council (VNC) and with the City. She served on the Community Advisory Planning Committee which advised Councilmember Ruth Galanter, and she has served two terms as the Venice Neighborhood Council president. She is currently the VNC representative to the LADWP/MOU committee and represents the VNC on the Los Angeles Neighborhood Council Coalition.
DeDe is featured on the Mayor’s “True Angel” webpage – you can read a short biography and find a link HERE.
