PLANNING COMMISSION TO CONSIDER ALLOWING
BUSINESS SIGNS ON RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY ...
SIGNS MAY BE UP TO 9 SQ. FT. TOTAL = 12 SQ. FT.
An ordinance is being considered by the LA City Planning Commission that would amend regulations pertaining to agricultural and residential signage, and allow signs up to 12 sq. ft. This is because the current City reguations were found to be "content-based discrimination." (see Court's ruling in People vs. Cripps (County of Los Angeles Superior Court Case No. 3CR12109).
So instead of eliminating all business related signs on residential property, the City is considering EXPANDING regulations to allow more types of business signs in residential zones.
