Ocean Front Walk Committee Report

The OFW Committee (Venice Beach Free Expression Working Group) did not meet this month. Legal challenges to LAMC 42.15 regulating illegal vending on the beach are still in the courts with no rulings or changes to date, so the ordinance stands as written and is to be enforced.

A task force on controlling the art at the graffiti pit met on 4/12 and on previous occasions at the Council office to develop a curated art program which is intended to reduce graffiti in nearby neighborhoods by allowing the police to site anyone with spray paint without a permit.\

Tentatively set to kick off in late May as the LAPD patrols increase for the summer, the goal is to tightly control the pit
